Biography

Ms. Parker received her Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law and her Master of Humanities with a certification in Women’s Studies from the University of Houston – Clear Lake. She also earned her mediator certification from South Texas College of Law. During law school she served as Associate Editor of the Texas Journal of Business Law and was a member of Delta Theta Phi and the STCL Women’s Law Society.

Before joining John K. Zaid & Associates, Ms. Parker began her legal career at a family law clinic serving indigent clients with divorce and custody matters. Growing up, her mother — who has worked in the medical field caring for patients since age 16 — instilled in her a strong work ethic and ambition. Ms. Parker discovered her natural talent for advocacy by negotiating on behalf of family and friends, realizing it was both something she loved and something she excelled at.

Ms. Parker has written several graduate papers on social justice, art, film, and philosophy, and was a presenter, speaker, and author at the University of Houston Humanities Conference, where she presented her paper “Perception and the Law: What We See, What We Don’t See, and What We Should See.” Personal injury has become a true passion — accompanying clients through the full arc of their cases has given her a firsthand understanding of the profound impact accidents have on families, making her advocacy in this field especially meaningful.

Ms. Parker grew up in Texarkana — the “Twin City” where the Texas-Arkansas border runs through the heart of downtown — and moved to Houston in 2006, making it her home ever since. An avid Rockets and Astros fan, she enjoys concerts, festivals, and the many events Houston has to offer. In her spare time she spends time with family and friends, watches movies, cooks, explores the city, and plays with her pit bull Harlowe. She is the proud mother of three grown daughters working toward their own careers, and an amateur author who enjoys writing short stories.
