Senior Associate
Kashif Masood Mehmood was born in Mumbai, India, and moved to Houston where he was raised since he was an infant. After growing up in Southwest Houston, Kashif moved to Katy and graduated from Seven Lakes High School. While in high school, Kashif competed on the Speech and Debate team where he found his passion for communication and public speaking.
Kashif decided to stay home and attended the University of Houston, graduating in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations with a Finance Minor. During his sophomore year, Kashif began considering law as a career, ultimately landing an internship with Turnbull Legal Group, a Houston criminal defense law firm.
In 2018, Kashif graduated from the University of Houston Law Center and was admitted to the State Bar of Texas. Kashif was a member of the Mock Trial Competition Team and the South Asian Law Students Association during his law school career, while simultaneously working as a student attorney with Attorneys Ned Turnbull and Amy Martin. As a student attorney, Kashif worked on numerous criminal and capital defense cases for indigent clients that needed court-appointed defense attorneys. Kashif’s passion for justice and helping others led him to take part in the Civil Practice Clinic at the University of Houston Law Center. He zealously gave a voice to indigent and low-income clients, assisting with a variety of civil cases including bankruptcy, collection, landlord-tenant, divorce, domestic violence, administrative appeals, adoption, will drafting, guardianships, name changes, and probate.
Prior to joining John K. Zaid & Associates, Kashif worked for Thomas J. Henry Injury Attorneys. He gained valuable legal experience and the necessary skills while working on automobile accidents, company vehicle accidents, premises liability, trucking accidents, and workplace accidents. Kashif is now dedicated and passionately eager to advocate for those clients whose lives have been scarred by severe injury.
Kashif enjoys spending time with family and friends, participating in Houston sports leagues, and writing.
