Jennifer Parker

Ms. Parker received her Doctor of Jurisprudence at South Texas College of Law and her Master of Humanities with a certification in Women’s Studies from the University of Houston – Clear Lake. She also received her certification as a mediator at South Texas College of Law. In law school, she was the Associate Editor of the Texas Journal of Business Law as well as a member of Delta Theta Phi and STCL Women’s Law Society.
Before coming to John K. Zaid & Associates, Ms. Parker started her legal career working at a family law clinic helping indigent clients with family issues such as divorce and custody disputes. Being able to help people who are unable to afford legal services has been very rewarding for her. Growing up, Ms. Parker credits her mother, who has been working in the medical field caring for patients since she was 16, with instilling in her traits that have helped her to get where she is today, like her work ethic and her ambition. Ms. Parker started helping family and friends by negotiating matters on their behalf and discovered that it was not only something that she enjoyed, but it was something that she excelled at.
Ms. Parker has written several graduate papers on social justice, art, films, and philosophy. She was a presenter, speaker, and author at the University of Houston Humanities conference. She presented her paper, Perception, and the Law: What We See, What We Don’t See, and What We Should See. Ms. Parker is passionate about education and helping people. Personal injury has also become a passion for her. Going through the process with clients from the beginning to the end of their case has shown Ms. Parker the impact that these accidents have on the people involved in the case. Family is very important to Ms. Parker so being able to represent and advocate for families in this field is very rewarding.
Ms. Parker grew up in Texarkana which is known as a “Twin City” because the border between Arkansas and Texas is located in the heart of the city at the Post Office. She moved to Houston in 2006 and has made Houston her home. She is an avid Rockets and Astros fan and enjoys going to concerts, festivals, and events that Houston is host to.
In her spare time, Ms. Parker enjoys spending time with her family and friends watching movies, cooking, exploring Houston, and playing with her pit bull Harlowe. She is a mother to three grown daughters who are working towards their own careers. Watching them grow into impressive independent women is something that she is extremely proud of. Ms. Parker is also an amateur author who enjoys writing short stories.
