Dane A. Dennison

Dane A. Dennison grew up in Port Arthur, Texas, were he was exposed to multiple cultures due to the diversity of the town and the number of refugees located there from the Vietnam War. During high school Dane furthered his love and skills in ceramics, participated in the marching and symphonic band as a trombonist and played the bass guitar in the jazz band, lettered in golf and worked part-time in a foundry. Dane also enjoyed camping and time at the beach swimming and fishing.
After high school Dane stayed close to home and attended Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, and was active in the Student Government Association that ushered in changes that helped the growth of the University. Dane is a brother of the Sigma Nu fraternity, where he served as president, vice president and secretary. He graduated with a Bachelor of Art in Political Science, pre-law emphasis, and a minor in ceramics. Dane contributed his foundry skills to the art department in their metal pouring sculpture art with his knowledge of iron and aluminum melting and helped supply raw materials to the department. In 2007 Dane started his legal education at Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston, Texas, where he focused his studies on immigration and international law, receiving his Juris Doctor in 2010. Dane became a licensed Texas Attorney in March of 2011.
In 2012 Dane started his law career at Thomas J. Henry law firm. Starting in the commercial litigation department under the guidance of partner Russell W. Endsley, gaining extensive litigation experience against insurance companies. Because of his knowledge, legal skill and zealous tenacity for his clients he was invited to join the Mass Tort department of the firm and joined the litigation team for the lawsuit against Johnson & Johnson for their misuse of the drug Risperdal. Dane’s efforts helped result in a favorable settlement for the injuries sustained for over one thousand clients. Dane gained further litigation skills and knowledge and learned a little more about himself as an attorney and has no problem going toe to toe with “big corporation.”
Dane then returned to southeast Texas to be closer to his daughter and family and opened his own solo-practice as a general practitioner. His thirst for knowledge and new challenges exposed him to new areas of law and furthered his litigation skills. Over the next decade Dane worked zealously for his clients and associated with a few other attorneys to fight against corporate lawyers. Growing up on the Gulf Coast Dane has always had a passion for the sea and a few years ago he decided to start the formal training and schooling to get his captain license. To be closer to his family’s sailboat and the water Dane closed his practice to join John K. Zaid & Associates so he may continue to help those in need of justice and pursue his journey to obtain his captain’s license, with the intention of retiring as a captain and running a fishing charter company and one day sailing into the eternal sunset.
