Renata Ortiz Guy
Renata grew up in the Houston area, attending high school in Pearland, TX. Renata majored in Psychology and double minored in Biology and Classical Studies at the University of Houston where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree. She then earned her Juris Doctor degree at South Texas College of Law Houston. During law school, Renata was the president of the Women’s Law Society and Vice President of the Environmental Law Society; coordinating educational and network building events in order to promote causes she found important to her.
During her studies, Renata completed internships at the Texas Attorney General’s Office, Harris County District Attorney’s Office, a real estate firm, an oil and gas firm, a family law firm and a personal injury firm. Renata made it her goal to learn about the different practices of the law in order to gain a holistic view of the legal world. After graduating and gaining admission to the State Bar of Texas, Renata fought for justice at the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, advocating for victims of criminal cases. Renata practiced fiercely defending victims of crimes, having compassion for the circumstances and representing the community’s best interest. Renata remains passionate in these values and continues to carry these values onto all areas of her legal work.
On her off time, Renata is an avid animal enthusiast who enjoys spending time in nature with her husband, Nathan, and her tiny tigers, Maus and Blue.
